Or if there’s another way to deal with this problem, please let me know.Įdit: I've noticed this error only during playback, not during recording. If anyone has tried this or knows about this, please tell me if it’s a good idea. I’m wondering if upgrading to SSD will help with the problem. I know that the hardware is really old, but I can’t afford any of the new MacBook Pros. I ran hardware tests on the laptop, but it passed all the tests. After I upgraded it to 8 GB, the problem seemed to have disappeared for a while, but for the last few months, I’ve been noticing the problem again. I have a 13-inch mid-2012 MacBook Pro (non-retina) with the following specs:Ģ.5GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor, The pack includes fully macro-assigned presets and WAV-rendered versions, making it easy to customise and create your unique sound. I sometimes get the “System Overload: The audio engine was not able to process all required data in time” error message on Garageband, even when there aren’t that many tracks in the project. Has anybody been experiencing something like this?īTW, my audio interface(s) are the PreSonus Quantum and Apogee Mic+.A subreddit for tutorials, discussions and links related to Apple Logic Pro and its related software. But I noticed no audio errors until the last few days - again, after I installed LPX 10.4.4. The only fix seems to be running at a higher buffer setting - which is a drag, considering that has never been an issue before.įull disclosure - I did have a new logic board installed in my computer under warranty by Apple, and got it back at the very beginning of this year. Including a clean install of Mojave and LPX on an external drive, with only the essential hardware/software connected/installed. I went through a bunch of possible remedies, but none of them worked. (But in both of those cases, there is no adjustable buffer.) System audio playback, or even Garageband, doesn't result in any audio errors. I noticed that this only happened on my computer with Logic Pro. I've never had this happen before - and as near as I can tell, it starting occurring after I upgraded to LPX 10.4.4. (I have thunderbolt and USB audio interfaces, besides the built in audio equipment on my iMac.)įor example, when playing an instance of Vintage Electric Piano, at 64 samples buffer, I get clicks and pops about every 10-20 seconds. It does only seem to happen on lower buffer settings, at 64 samples and below, from what I can tell - regardless of the interface, and at all sample rates from 44.1 on up. Except I'm not seeing a spike in CPU usage now. However, to make a long story short, I am experiencing what sound like synchronization errors, that usually only happen when live monitoring an audio or instrument track at low buffer settings - and a corresponding spike on the CPU meter. This one is dicey, since a problem like this can have many possible causes.
